Wow! I’m thrilled to once again have artwork join others in the Ottawa Art Gallery (OAG/GAO) collection for the next year.

Laurier at Elgin was selected through the OAG juried process to be included in the 2021-2022 collection. It will be on consignment through the Ottawa Art Gallery for the next year and will be part of exhibitions as the year progresses. There are so many exceptional artists in our Ottawa region. It is humbling to be included with such company and in such a wonderful space. It is definitely worth a visit to the OAG. How wonderful to have this in our city!

Inspiration for this piece came from walks around Ottawa in the past year or so.  Like many in 2020, staying home inspired me to try many different approaches to my sketching.   Here I attempt to paint this monochrome image without using any black paint.   Mixtures of yellow, blue and orange provide for additional hews that give warmth to the piece.  The light captured, makes it up-lifting
